Pizza on a stick is a fun and portable twist on traditional pizza! Perfect for parties, picnics, or a quick snack, this recipe allows you to enjoy all your favorite pizza flavors in a convenient form.

Ingredients

  • For the dough:
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 3/4 cup warm water
  • For the filling:
    • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
    • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices (or your choice of toppings)
    • 1/4 cup pizza sauce (for dipping)
  • Optional toppings:
    • Dried oregano
    • Crushed red pepper
    • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Tools:
    • Skewers or sticks
    • Baking sheet
    • Parchment paper

Directions

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • Add olive oil and warm water. Stir until a dough forms.
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover with a cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Assemble the Pizza Sticks:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Divide the dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball).
    • Roll each ball into a flat oval or rectangle.
    • Place a few slices of mozzarella and pepperoni on one half of the dough. If desired, sprinkle with dried oregano or crushed red pepper.
    • Fold the dough over to cover the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
  3. Insert Skewers:
    • Carefully insert a skewer into the sealed dough pocket, making sure it goes through the filling and the dough.
  4. Bake:
    • Place the pizza sticks on the prepared baking sheet.
    • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
    • Serve with pizza sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy your pizza on a stick!
