Ingredients:

  • 1 bag frozen waffle fries (about 22-24 oz)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (for serving)
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños (optional for heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Ranch dressing (optional for drizzling)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Directions:

  1. Bake the waffle fries:
    • Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the frozen waffle fries.
    • Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake according to the package directions until crispy and golden, typically 20-25 minutes.
    • Season the fries with a little salt and pepper once out of the oven.
  2. Prepare the toppings:
    • While the fries are baking, cook the bacon until crispy and crumble it once cooled.
    • Slice the green onions and dice any additional toppings like tomatoes or jalapeños.
  3. Load the fries:
    • Once the waffle fries are baked and crispy, remove them from the oven but keep the oven on.
    • Transfer the fries to an oven-safe dish or leave them on the baking sheet.
    • Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the fries, followed by the crumbled bacon.
  4. Melt the cheese:
    • Return the loaded fries to the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  5. Add the finishing touches:
    • Remove the fries from the oven and sprinkle the sliced green onions, diced tomatoes, and pickled jalapeños (if using) over the top.
    • Add dollops of sour cream and drizzle with ranch dressing if desired.
  6. Serve:
    • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately. These Farmhouse-Style Loaded Waffle Fries are best enjoyed hot and crispy!
