Gourmet Bacon Butter is a rich and savory spread that combines the creaminess of butter with the smoky, crispy flavor of bacon. Easy to make yet full of flavor, it’s sure to elevate any dish with a touch of indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 slices of bacon, cooked until crispy and finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for extra smokiness)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional for a touch of sweetness)
  • Salt to taste (optional, depending on the saltiness of your bacon)

Directions

  1. Cook the Bacon:
    • Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8–10 minutes. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to cool. Once cooled, finely chop the bacon into small pieces.
  2. Prepare the Butter:
    • In a medium-sized bowl, add the softened butter. If your butter is not soft enough, you can microwave it for 10-15 seconds (but do not melt it completely).
  3. Combine the Ingredients:
    • Add the chopped bacon, chives, garlic powder, smoked paprika (if using), black pepper, and maple syrup (if using) to the butter. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  4. Taste and Season:
    • Taste the butter and adjust seasoning if necessary. If the bacon isn’t salty enough, you can add a pinch of salt to taste.
  5. Chill the Butter:
    • Transfer the bacon butter mixture to a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap. Roll it into a log and twist the ends to secure. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the butter to firm up.
  6. Serve:
    • Once chilled, slice and serve the bacon butter on bread, steak, or vegetables, or use it to enhance your favorite dishes. Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.
