These Chocolate Butterscotch Candy Clusters are a quick and easy treat that combines the rich taste of chocolate with the creamy sweetness of butterscotch. With just a few ingredients, you can create these delicious, crunchy clusters that are perfect for holiday gifting, parties, or just satisfying your sweet tooth. Best of all, no baking is required!
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups butterscotch chips
- 1 cup salted peanuts (or any nuts of choice, such as almonds or cashews)
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1 cup crispy rice cereal
- Optional: sea salt for sprinkling on top
Directions:
- Melt the chocolate and butterscotch chips:
In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until both are melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can melt them using a double boiler over simmering water. - Mix the dry ingredients:
Once the chocolate and butterscotch are melted, gently stir in the salted peanuts, mini marshmallows, and crispy rice cereal. Mix until all the ingredients are evenly coated with the chocolate-butterscotch mixture. - Form the clusters:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the lined baking sheet to form clusters. Make them as big or small as you’d like. - Chill the clusters:
Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the clusters are fully set and firm. - Optional finishing touch:
If desired, lightly sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over each cluster for a sweet and salty flavor combination. - Serve and store:
Once set, remove the clusters from the baking sheet and enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
