Chocolate Butterscotch Candy Clusters Recipe

These Chocolate Butterscotch Candy Clusters are a quick and easy treat that combines the rich taste of chocolate with the creamy sweetness of butterscotch. With just a few ingredients, you can create these delicious, crunchy clusters that are perfect for holiday gifting, parties, or just satisfying your sweet tooth. Best of all, no baking is required!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup salted peanuts (or any nuts of choice, such as almonds or cashews)
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup crispy rice cereal
  • Optional: sea salt for sprinkling on top

Directions:

  1. Melt the chocolate and butterscotch chips:
In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until both are melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can melt them using a double boiler over simmering water.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients:
Once the chocolate and butterscotch are melted, gently stir in the salted peanuts, mini marshmallows, and crispy rice cereal. Mix until all the ingredients are evenly coated with the chocolate-butterscotch mixture.
  3. Form the clusters:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the lined baking sheet to form clusters. Make them as big or small as you’d like.
  4. Chill the clusters:
Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until the clusters are fully set and firm.
  5. Optional finishing touch:
If desired, lightly sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over each cluster for a sweet and salty flavor combination.
  6. Serve and store:
Once set, remove the clusters from the baking sheet and enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
